Hi! My name is Giulio
and I teach Italian online.
My hometown is Bologna. It hosts the oldest university in the world and because of its amazing dishes is known worldwide as the Italian capital city of food. My goal is to support you in your journey towards mastering the Italian language.
What does learning a new language mean to me? 🇬🇧 🇩🇪
I’m a language learner myself, as I speak English and German.
I think of learning a new language as a long, difficult but enjoyable path to go through with the aim of reducing the wall separating a student from the foreign language he or she wants to learn.
And it’s not just about acquiring a new language because the learning process enables you to question your cultural certainties and to broaden your mind to new ways of thinking.
Every time I think and speak English or German I feel like a new person who’s living another life with a different personality.
Why do I teach Italian? 🇮🇹
Understanding how a language works and talking to foreigners in their mother tongue is a unique feeling that opens up endless possibilities and that I have experienced in my trips abroad. Living in Italy or going on a dream trip to this country with the power of getting to know the language is a priceless opportunity as well: you are not just able to communicate with Italians but you experience the cultural insights which, otherwise, you wouldn’t have access to without the knowledge of the language. Giving this opportunity to students of the Italian language has become my mission in recent years. Helping them to achieve their Italian goal gives me great satisfaction and pride. And that’s just one of the reasons why I love teaching.
What is my approach to teaching Italian?
Learning and teaching a new language have a lot in common.
Over the years, I have always implemented the techniques I’ve been taught while learning English and German also in teaching Italian to my students. The ability to communicate in Italian and be able to understand Italian speakers is my first goal for you to reach during my lessons.
